Visit to New Bern in 1791
as part of his Southern Tour,
April 24-26, 2015.

Friday, April 24, 7 p.m.
Dinner in the Mt. Vernon Style
Enjoy a festive dinner with President Washington
in the John Wright Stanly Garden.
The evening begins with a candlelight tour of the house
and ends with a six course dinner with wine as
Martha Washington would have served it.

Speaker's Lunch at the Chelsea
Warren Bingham, noted author, will share his knowledge about Washington's visit to New Bern and his
Southern Tour of 1791.
Chose from Shrimp & Grits or Port Loin with Cabernet demi-glace
and cherry pie for dessert.

Walk-About Through Washington's Eyes
Each Tour Begins at the Attmore-Oliver House.
Learn about houses which were here at the time of Washington's visit. Go inside a couple to get the flavor of 18th Century New Bern
and have a glass of lemonade. Tours leave at 2 and at 4.

The Ball at the Palace

Learn the minuet or contra dance while enjoying
a plethora of desserts and spirits from times past.
Comtempory era dancing following 15 toasts punctuated
by cannon fire. Come in costume, black tie or festive dress.
